Ajsu party to contest LS polls in four states.

The Ajsu party on Thursday decided to make a limited foray in national politics and would contest the next Lok Sabha elections in three states, besides Jharkhand.
"The party has decided to plunge into national politics. To start with it will contest four seats each in West Bengal and Odisha and two in Chhatisgarh," Ajsu vice-president Praveen Prabhakar told reporters here.

The Janata Dal(U) on Wednesday directed its two MLAs in the Jharkhand Assembly to vote against the Hemant Soren-led government during the vote of confidence tomorrow.
"The party's national leadership has asked MLAs Gopal Krishna Patar and Sudha Choudhary to vote against the government in tomorrow's floor test," senior leader of the JDU's Jharkhand unit, Pramod Mishra, said here.

Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Thursday moved a trust motion in the Assembly.
The Soren-led Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) government was formed July 13. Soren was asked by Governor Syed Ahmad to prove his majority within a week. Consequently, a special Assembly session has been convened on Thursday.

Armed with the support of 42 MLAs in the 82-member Jharkhand Assembly, JMM Legislature Party leader Hemant Soren would formally stake claim to form government later today.
“The JMM leader sought time between 5 pm and 6 pm to stake claim for a new government formation, and Governor Syed Ahmed gave him time at 5.30 pm,” said an official attached to Raj Bhavan.
The development comes nine days before the six-month period of President’s rule ends.
On Monday, JMM General Secretary Vinod Pandey had said the party would likely stake claim to form the ninth coalition government today with the required majority.

Former Jharkhand chief minister Arjun Munda on Friday urged Governor Syed Ahmed to immediately dissolve the 82-member state Assembly.

Accompanied by Bharatiya Janata Party state president Ravindra Rai and others, Munda met the governor and requested him to dissolve the House and pave the way for fresh polls.
The party also submitted a memorandum backing their demand, according to an official release.
The move by BJP to call on the governor comes in the wake of Congress and JMM inching towards forming the ninth government in Jharkhand in a little over 12 years.

JMM Leader Said: 'Jharkhand may soon have JMM-led government'.

Jharkhand may get a government led by the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and supported by the Congress and other parties after President's rule in the state ends July 18, a senior JMM leader said on Tuesday.
"Talks with Congress are going on in positive direction and the state may soon have a new government led by our party," a JMM leader told a news agency.
Senior Congress leader Shakeel Ahmad, Congress's Jharkhand in-charge BK Hariprasad and other party leaders met JMM chief Shibu Soren here Tuesday. "Everything will be cleared before July 18," Ahmad said after the meeting.
