ISRO, Tata Motors develop India's first fuel cell bus.

For the first time in the country, a Hydrogen-powered automobile bus has been developed by Tata Motors and Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) after several years of research.

The hydrogen fuel-fitted bus was demonstrated at Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre, an ISRO facility in Mahendragiri in Tamil Nadu on Sunday. It's a CNG-type bus. Hydrogen in bottles at high pressure is stored at the top of the bus and there would be zero pollution.

“Phantom downloads” are Apple’s latest app store headache in China.

Users of China’s iTunes app store noticed a disquieting development in recent weeks: their accounts were showing they had purchased apps—mostly Chinese mobile games—that had never heard of before. According to Tech in Asia, the phantom downloads may have been “the work of an app-promotion company that somehow gained access to user accounts.”

It wouldn’t be the first time that Apple’s mobile platform has run into security problems in China: developers there have complained that they have lost hundreds of thousands of dollars to fraud. But it’s not just criminals trying to take advantage of iTunes users—it’s the users themselves.

NASA discovers 'blue planet' 63 light-years away.

Scientists have discovered a blue planet that is orbiting another star 63 light-years away. The planet is called HD 189733b.

NASA announced today that its Hubble Space Telescope has found a true blue planet out in the alien world.

"Astronomers making visible-light observations with NASA's Hubble Space Telescope have deduced the actual color of a planet orbiting another star 63 light-years away," NASA said.

Microsoft’s research lab in Cambridge, UK has developed a new way to interact with the digital world using intuitive hand gestures.

“Digits” uses 3 different IR cameras to track the positions of fingers with respect to each other.

One of the applications for this technology includes 3-D spacial interaction with a mobile device. By assigning gestures to certain functions, the user could conceivably control any aspect of a device.

Developers have unearthed more settings in the latest beta version of iOS 7,

 

the operating system that will power the next iPhone and iPad and that will also be released to existing iDevice owners later this year.

Discovered by an anonymous tipster, the feature allows users to control
their devices with left-or-right head movements and was first reported by 9to5Mac.

 Tilting the head in one direction would launch the Siri personal assistant, for example, while tilting it in the opposite direction could return the screen to the home menu.
